WHAT WE DO — 03

Tax Preparation & Planning

We don't just show up every April. We plan with you throughout the year, so filing day is a formality, not a surprise — and you understand every number on the return with your name on it.

What's included

Business tax returns (Schedule C, 1065, 1120-S, or 1120 — matched to your entity)

Personal tax returns (Form 1040), including self-employment income

1099 preparation and e-filing for your contractors, with W-9 and TIN verification to prevent IRS mismatch notices

Support responding to IRS notices — reviewed with you, explained in plain language, and answered together

Understand the return before you sign it

A tax return is a translation of decisions you made all year — we'd rather walk you through that translation than hand you a stack of forms and a signature line. You'll always know why a number is what it is. For anything beyond a straightforward notice — an audit or a case that needs full IRS representation — we'll always be upfront if that means bringing in outside specialist help, rather than take on more than we should.

Our Process

01

A free consultation

We talk about your entity type, which returns you need — Schedule C, 1065, 1120-S, 1120, or a personal 1040 — and where things stand right now.

02

A tax-specific document checklist

Prior-year returns, W-2s/1099s received, bookkeeping records or financial statements, asset purchases, payroll totals, and your contractor list with W-9s if you issue 1099s.

03

Preparation, reviewed with you before it's filed

We prepare the return, walk through it with you in plain language so you understand every number, then e-file — with an extension filed if needed.

04

Confirmation & what's next

We confirm the return was accepted, help with anything the IRS sends back, and start planning for next year instead of waiting for next April.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which tax returns can you prepare for my business?

Business returns matched to your entity — Schedule C, 1065 (partnership), 1120-S (S-Corp), or 1120 (C-Corp) — plus personal returns (Form 1040), including self-employment income.

I'm self-employed — do you handle that?

Yes. Self-employment income reported on Schedule C, alongside your personal Form 1040, is one of the most common returns we prepare.

If I get an IRS notice or get audited, can you represent me?

We review IRS notices with you, explain what's being asked, and help you respond. Our preparer holds IRS Annual Filing Season Program (AFSP) credentials, which allow limited representation — only for exams of returns we personally prepared, and only in front of revenue agents or IRS customer service representatives, not Appeals or Collections. For anything beyond that, we'll tell you upfront and help connect you with an Enrolled Agent, CPA, or attorney who can represent you fully.

Can you file 1099s for my contractors?

Yes — including W-9 collection and TIN verification, which helps prevent the IRS name/number mismatch notices that show up when that step gets skipped.

Let's plan this year, not just file it.
